Going Postal Scarf
Materials:
7oz worsted weight yarn
I hook, J hook (for beginning chain)
Abbreviations:
hdc- half double crochet
FLO- front loop only
BLO- back loop only
fpdc- front post double crochet
bpdc- back post double crochet
Notes: Ch 2 counts as first hdc, so you will skip first hdc at beginning of row. Ch 3 counts as dc. ch 4 counts as dc and ch 1. Each ch 1 sp counts as a st.
Ch 176 with J hook.
Row 1: With I hook, hdc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2: hdc in FLO across. (175hdc)
Row 3: hdc in BLO across. Ch 3, turn. (175hdc)
Row 4: (fpdc around next st, dc in next st) across. Ch 3, turn. (88dc, 87fpdc)
Row 5: (dc in next st, bpdc in next st) across until reaching last 2 sts. dc in last 2 sts. Ch 2, turn. (89, 86bpdc)
Row 6: hdc across. ch 4, turn.(175 hdc)
Row 7: (skip next st, dc in next st, ch 1) across. (88dc, 87 ch1 spaces)
Rows 8-9: ch 2, turn. hdc in each st across. Ch 3, turn at end of row 9. (175hdc)
Row 10: (fpdc around next st, dc in next st) across. Ch 3, turn. (88dc, 87fpdc)
Row 11: (dc in next st, bpdc in next st) across until reaching last 2 sts. dc in last 2 sts. Ch 2, turn. (89, 86bpdc)
Row 12: hdc in FLO across. Ch 2, turn. (175hdc)
Row 13: hdc in BLO across. End off, weave in ends.

I just finished this scarf (finally - it's been a WIP for over a year now...) and it turned out very nice! I worked it in Claret, then put White just at the ends... I'll send you a picture of it after I get it downloaded off my camera... Thanks for a great pattern!!! :)
